About CNDS

Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS) has been set up under the aegis of IGMPI registered as a non-profit society (under The Societies Registration Act, 1860) with the Government of India.The Centre is committed to promote proper diet and nutrition which is crucial to the health and happiness of the society at large.

CNDS is imparting education in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics to thousands of knowledge seekers in the classroom setting as well as research dissertation, field and online learning training programmes.

CNDS provides and education programmes and imparts extensive knowledge through classroom and online modes, in the holistic Nutrition programmes like Nutrition and Dietetics as well as specialized courses like diabetes education, paediatric nutrition, nutritional oncology, ayurvedic food and nutrition, obesity and weight management, clinical diabetology, nutritional gastroenterology and hepatology and many other programmes. Our courses are designed with outmost care given to the industry requirements and shaping careers in the field of Nutrition dietetics, medical and non-medical.

Students gets to experience the expertise from faculties who are specialized in Nutrition, dietetics, foods, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, etc. The centre is well equipped with all the teaching aids and advance laboratory equipment and devices.

The Centre is committed to making nutrition accessible to everyone through nutrition recommendations, easy-to-follow explanations, interactive two way communication lectures, dynamic presentations of the lectures.Apart from this the center provides ample opportunities for the students to comprehend the latest diet plans and nutrition requirements with hands-on practices in Industry, Hospitals and Clinics.

Post completion of the all the courses, CNDS also provides job and Internship placement assistance to students in an easy and effortless way.

The Institute of Good Manufacturing Practices India, an autonomous Institute recognised by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India is duly licensed and certified by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations 2018 (Active license number: ERO/EOMSM/L-8000027) for offering education and training programmes in the sectors of Pharmaceutical, Food & Nutrition, Healthcare, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG), Psychology, Medical Devices, Cosmetics, Remote Sensing, Health Insurance, Product & Marketing Management, Cybersecurity, Fire Safety, and Renewable Energy in the regular Diploma (full or part-time) and online modes.

IGMPI is also approved by Sector Skills Council under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) setup by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt of India (TC ID:TC342267).

IGMPI has been conferred with the prestigious "BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS (BIS) AWARD OF HONOUR 2023". QUALITY COUNCIL OF INDIA (QCI) has also conferred IGMPI with D.L. SHAH NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD, Certificate of Merit & ASSOCHAM has conferred IGMPI with the Services Excellence Award based on excellence of its services to the students and training participants.

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) came into existence through an act of Parliament in 1987. BIS is the National Standard Body of India established under the BIS Act 2016 for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. The Bureau is a Body consisting of 25 members representing both Central and State governments, Members of Parliament, industry, scientific and research institutions, consumer organizations and professional bodies; with Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution as its President and with Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution as its Vice-President.

Quality Council of India (QCI)

Quality Council of India is set up by the Government of India to establish and operate national accreditation structure and promote quality through National Quality Campaign. QCI is registered as a non-profit society with its own Memorandum of Association. QCI is governed by a Council of 38 members and Chairman of QCI is appointed by the Prime Minister on recommendation of the industry to the government. The Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, is the nodal ministry for QCI.

International Recognition

For providing its education and training services to overseas students, IGMPI is registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Government of India and our Export Import Code is AADCI7680Q.

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is a member of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and through the Indian National Committee (INC) which is a member of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). BIS is also a member of regional standards bodies like Pacific Area Standards Congress (PASC) and South Asian Regional Standards Organization (SARSO). India started taking part in IEC from 1911 and subsequently the then Indian Standards Institution (now BIS) took over the responsibility of Indian National Committee of IEC(INC-IEC) in 1949. Since then the INC-IEC is actively participating in the activities of the IEC both at the policy level and technical work and carrying out the responsibilities as member body of IEC Council. The Centre for Nutrition & Dietetics Studies (CNDS) is committed to strengthening human resources through advanced research, innovation, and professional training in the field of nutrition and health. The centre integrates clinical nutrition, dietetics, food science, and applied research to meet the evolving needs of healthcare, wellness, and nutrition-based industries.

CNDS offers Project, Product Development, Internship, and Dissertation opportunities for graduates, postgraduates, research scholars, and working professionals in the fields of Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, Food & Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, and Allied Health Sciences. Each project is structured to ensure hands-on experience, practical exposure, and research competency, under the close supervision of experienced faculty members.
The programme places strong emphasis on project and product development–based dissertation work, including:

  • Functional and therapeutic food product development
  • Nutraceutical formulation and evaluation
  • Diet-based food products for lifestyle and metabolic disorders
  • Clinical nutrition intervention studies
  • Nutritional assessment and diet planning research
  • Community and public health nutrition projects

Research topics are designed in line with current healthcare requirements, consumer trends, and academic standards. All project and dissertation work is conducted with continuous faculty involvement, ensuring scientific accuracy, innovation, and compliance with university norms.

The primary objective of the programme is to enhance practical skills, analytical ability, and professional competence, giving students a distinct advantage in career paths such as clinical dietetics, nutrition research, wellness consulting, hospitals, academia, NGOs, and health-focused industries.

Each student is allotted a dedicated project guide who mentors them throughout the project, product development, or dissertation period. Faculty members devote time, expertise, and resources to plan, guide, and successfully complete each project in a structured and professional manner.

CNDS admits a significant number of trainees every year referred by Universities and Educational Institutions for hands-on training, academic projects, and dissertation work. Students are exposed to real-life clinical, community, and industry-oriented scenarios, enhancing confidence, competence, and professional readiness.

Currently, students from reputed universities across the country are pursuing their project, product development, and dissertation work at CNDS in areas such as clinical nutrition, lifestyle disorder management, functional foods, nutraceuticals, maternal and child nutrition, and community nutrition.

The centre provides access to essential research facilities, academic resources, and expert guidance required for high-quality nutrition research. Students may also opt for short-term internships, summer projects, or full academic-year dissertation work, enabling comprehensive learning and applied research exposure. Students from B.Sc., M.Sc., Postgraduate Diploma, and allied health science programs have successfully completed their projects, product development, and dissertation work at CNDS, meeting university requirements while gaining industry-relevant knowledge and practical expertise.

Eligibility

Graduation in Science and Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification exam or awaiting their results, are also eligible to apply.

Fees

Students are required to pay 35,000/- for 1 months project work, 45,000/- for 3 months project work, 55,000/- for 6 months project work and Rs. 90,000/- for 12 months project work. This covers all laboratory expenses. Programme fee shall not be refundable at any case.

Methodology

  1. Identifying scope of the topic: Topic of the project will be analyzed by the experts. It’s widest possible scope will be considered and worked upon.
  2. Planning: Effective strategies will be developed and planned wisely so as to make it possible to carry out maximum study and work in the specified time.
  3. Execution of the Strategy: The plan for the project will be followed step by step to complete the project successfully in the stipulated time period, giving student the maximum benefit of knowledge and expertise. Hands-on experience will be provided with Practical analysis and prototyping so that students are made aware of the Industrial applications and their Implementation.
  4. Preparation of Project Report: Writing of project report is the last and most important part of a project. Documenting all the literature review, procedures and results are important aspects of a successful project report. Thus, report should be prepared in the best possible manner, which will be ensured by the experts of our team.

Registration

The registration dates for this programme run by the Institute are updated timely on the webpage. Effective online learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the course lectures, online live classes and study material easily accessible. This gives a huge window of self-regulated and self-paced performance to the participants.

Certification

On the successful completion of their project/Dissertation, a certificate of completion will also be awarded by Faculty of Food Safety & Quality, IGMPI.

*IGMPI will provide 10% fee concession on the programme fee to reserved category candidates - Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Economical Weaker Session (EWS), Person with disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen for PG Diploma programmes.

*Up to 30% Need-based programme fee waivers will be awarded to our PG Diploma students with exceptional academic records requiring financial support from the Institute (A student’s family income is assessed based on various financial resources).
