About CEHS

The Centre for Environmental Health and Safety (CEHS) which has been set up under the aegis of Institute of Good Manufacturing Practices India is registered as a non-profit society recognised by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, accredited Vocational Institution of Ministry of HRD, Government of India. IGMPI is dedicated to promote working in a healthy and safe environment. The rapid expansion of infrastructure development and industrial establishments has heightened the focus on ensuring safety measures essential for public health. IGMPI is moving hand in hand with technology advances and has gained recognition as stronger and better training & online learning platform provider in the areas of Pharma GMP, Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Health, Safety & Environment and many more. Today, India has had legislations on occupational safety and health for 50 years. But the number of regulatory personnel is limited to 1,400 safety officers, 1,154 factory inspectors, and 27 medical inspectors. These numbers are grossly inadequate even for the inspection of formal units that only employ about 10% of India's total workforce (around 26 million). This proves that there is a huge demand of industrial safety experts.

India is a fast-growing economy. It influences the global market as well. The CEHS team at IGMPI has come with programmes specially designed for industry professionals, graduates, and safety engineers to enhance their knowledge and get trained to have a great career in this upcoming and thriving field. Additionally, the Centre for Environmental Health and Safety, IGMPI endeavours to enhance the skills of the available work force.

Centre for Environmental Health and Safety (CEHS) Programmes

With increase is global competence and a more demanding market, industries explore the aspects to be at par with their competitors. Our country is witnessing a steep surge of rapid urbanization with more infrastructure developments and growing numbers of industrial establishments.

However, rapid urbanization goals can be marred by untoward incidents that cause a lot of legal harassment ending up in compensations and tarnished image. Thus environment health and safety is the responsibility of all the stakeholders. The safety of the employees is a major thrust area as they are the asset to any organisation to which they belong.

Production and development should not be compromised on the cost of poor health environment safety.

Thus it is important to increase awareness about the Labor rights and safety measures that would prevent the unintended accidents. IGMPI CEHS team has come with programmes specially designed for industry professionals, graduates, safety engineers to enhance their knowledge and get trained to have a great career in this upcoming and thriving field.

Professional Certification in Green Supply Chain (PGSC)

Green Supply Chain (GSC) integrates environmental thinking into traditional supply chain management, encompassing product design, material sourcing and selection, manufacturing processes, delivery of the final product to consumers, and end-of-life management of the product after its useful life. With increasing environmental regulations, stakeholder expectations, and climate change pressures, organizations across agriculture, food processing, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and manufacturing sectors are actively transitioning toward greener, more sustainable supply chains.

Conventional supply chains have largely followed linear models characterized by high resource consumption, excessive packaging, inefficient logistics, and significant waste generation. These practices contribute to carbon emissions, biodiversity loss, water depletion, and environmental degradation. In contrast, green supply chains adopt circular economy principles that emphasize resource efficiency, waste minimization, reuse, recycling, and responsible sourcing.

This programme highlights the strategic, operational, and technological dimensions of green supply chain, covering sustainable procurement, eco-design, green logistics, low-carbon transportation, supplier sustainability assessment, lifecycle analysis, and reverse logistics. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how environmental sustainability can be aligned with cost efficiency, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and long-term business competitiveness.

The course emphasizes real-world applications, policy frameworks, and emerging global best practices that enable organizations to transform their supply chains into resilient, transparent, and environmentally responsible systems.
