Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS) has been set up under the aegis of IGMPI registered as a non-profit society (under The Societies Registration Act, 1860) with the Government of India.The Centre is committed to promote proper diet and nutrition which is crucial to the health and happiness of the society at large.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Nutritional Dermatology will help students to develop their skills to understand nutritional challenges seen in skin disorder and their management in individuals.

Skin diseases are a range of illness and disorders affecting skin, Facial Rashes, Systematic Diseases, Fungal Skin Infections, Psoriasis, Acne, and Nail Disease; Hair Loss and Blistering Disorder and Follicular Disorder. Dermatology disease namely Skin Infection, Pigmentary Conditions, Lichen Planus, Rosea, Ring worm,Contact Dermatitis, Lupus, Melanoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Vitiligo, Wart, Chicken Pox, Seborrheic Eczema, Kerotosis Pilaris, Measles, Basal Cell Carcinoma etc. are the most prevalent problem among all countries. Nutrition and Integumentary function are closely interrelated in order to maintain healthy skin. Derma diseases not only have a physical impact but also leads to psychological impact.Several specific nutrients like anti - oxidants, whilst dietary factors such as fiber, Omega – 3 & Omega - 6, Vitamin D3, Probiotic supplements, may prevent Derma diseases such as Pigmentation, Facial Rashes, Seborrheic Eczema, Acne and Basal Cell Carcinoma.

The global Derma drugs market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.9 percent during the forecast period 2016 to 2024. The market was estimated to be worth $45.5 billion in 2015 and the same is expected to reach $61.6 billion by 2024. Hence there is a need of understanding the immediate importance of nutrition and its supportive and therapeutic role in the management of Skin diseases.

In order to enrich the core skills and competencies of health professionals to effectively educate people with Skin health, to promote effective self-management for optimal prevention of disease Centre of Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS), IGMPI has designed this programme. This is undertaken through theoretical knowledge and equip the learners with interpersonal communication skills, this will facilitate psychological wellbeing of patients.

Eligibility

Any Graduate/ B.Tech/ B.Sc. in Dermatology/Microbiology/Home Science /Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ BE/ B.Pharma/ MBBS/ BDS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BAMS/Clinical Cosmetology or any other discipline. Diploma holders are eligible for our Industry Certificate, and Certificate Programmes.

Programme Duration

Minimum time in which a student can complete this diploma programme is one yearwhile a maximum of two consecutive year is allowed to complete the programme.

Examination & Certification

IGMPI follows a credit system based on all learning activities involved in studying for all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma and Certificate Programmes. Each of your modules is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will have to earn all the credits assigned to your programme.

All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the programmes, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the programmes. Any Graduate/ B.Tech/ B.Sc. in Dermatology/Microbiology/Home Science /Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ BE/ B.Pharma/ MBBS/ BDS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BAMS/Clinical Cosmetology or any other discipline. Diploma holders are eligible for our Industry Certificate, and Certificate Programmes.

Programme Duration

Minimum time in which a student can complete this diploma programme is 6 months while a maximum of one consecutive year is allowed to complete the programme.

Programme Deliverables

A comprehensive study material for all the modules in hard copies ensuring the needs of the audience. The accompanying training material is appropriately aligned with the current Industry’s expectations.

- Interactive or online live sessions on all key areas of the programme giving all flexibility to the participants.

- Online classes for all the modules will be conducted on the weekends. Moreover, a doubt clearing session will also be scheduled before the examination.

- All the efforts are made by IGMPI faculty members to make the entire programme modules easily understandable.

- Assessment and evaluation for all the programme modules in order to enhance the levels of competencies and skills of the participants leading towards the objective of application in the job.

- At the end of each programme modules, the trainers shall obtain feedback from the participants using specially designed questionnaires.

- All learning and training delivery initiatives shall be conducted in English.

Examination & Certification

IGMPI follows a credit system based on all learning activities involved in studying for all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma Programmes. Each of your modules is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will have to earn all the credits assigned to your programme.

All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the programmes, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the programmes. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded a Executive Diploma in Nutritional Dermatology by Faculty of Center for Nutritional and Dietetics Studies (CNDS), IGMPI. For all the above-mentioned modules elaborate programme material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time.
