Veradigm to buy ScienceIO’s healthcare AI platform to create advanced, private language models for healthcare

Veradigm, Inc., a healthcare technology leader, has agreed to acquire ScienceIO, a top AI platform provider in healthcare. The acquisition, unanimously approved by Veradigm's Board of Directors, is set to close promptly, pending standard conditions.

ScienceIO’s AI platform supports various healthcare functions while prioritizing patient privacy, including patient anonymization and predictive analytics.

Veradigm plans to utilize ScienceIO’s AI platform to develop proprietary large language models using its extensive dataset of over 400,000 providers and 200 million patients. This move aims to accelerate the rollout of new features across Veradigm’s business lines, enhancing customer experience. It positions Veradigm as a key player in the healthcare data intelligence market, driving future growth and delivering value while ensuring patient privacy and data integrity.

The transaction, funded from cash reserves, entails a $140 million payment for ScienceIO, with around $44 million deferred and payable in installments over three years, subject to customary adjustments.
