Illness to Wellness’ collaborates with ILBS to generate awareness and end discrimination against hepatitis B patients

The 'Illness to Wellness' national campaign, in partnership with the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), initiated the 'Winning Over Mothers With Hepatitis B' (WOMB) program, aiming to raise awareness about preventing mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B. In India, where over 40 million people are affected, misconceptions about the disease persist, leading to unnecessary suffering. ILBS, alongside Illness to Wellness, organized awareness sessions to combat stigmas and provide accurate information about hepatitis B. Experts emphasized the need for vaccination and proactive dissemination of information to eliminate discrimination against patients. The WOMB initiative, launched in December 2022, focuses on ending stigma and establishing support networks for affected mothers. Additionally, the partnership between Illness to Wellness and EMPATHY aims to educate the public about hepatitis B and C, promoting a supportive environment for affected individuals and emphasizing the importance of preventive healthcare awareness.
