Soft white cheese recalled after testing reveals Listeria contamination

Tama Corporation, based in Doral, FL, is recalling its 24-ounce containers of "Queso de Mano PAISA" due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The company was alerted by the co-packer about a batch of 18 cases distributed in Salt Lake City, UT, which raised concerns about Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Subsequent testing confirmed the presence of contamination in a sample from this batch.

Recalled product details:

  • The affected "Queso de Mano Paisa" was exclusively sold in Utah, available at Rancho Markets stores.
  • Packaged in a 24-ounce plastic container with a lot number of 2420104 and a BEST BY date of May 16, 2024.
  • The lot code is located on the clear plastic lid of the container, and the product UPC is 838795000338.

No illnesses related to this issue have been reported at the time of this recall announcement. Consumers who have purchased this product are advised to refrain from consuming it and either discard it or return it to the place of purchase.
