Hormel Foods recalls Planters nuts because of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes

Hormel Foods Sales LLC is voluntarily recalling two varieties of PLANTERS products produced in April due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The contamination source has not been disclosed. No illnesses have been reported, and all affected retailers have been notified. The recall is conducted with the US Food and Drug Administration's knowledge.

The recalled products were shipped to Publix distribution warehouses in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina, and Dollar Tree distribution warehouses in South Carolina and Georgia. The recall includes:

  • 4-ounce PLANTERS Honey Roasted Peanuts with a “Best If Used By” date of April 11, 2025, and UPC 2900002097
  • 8.75-ounce PLANTERS Deluxe Lightly Salted Mixed Nuts with a “Best If Used By” date of April 5, 2026, and UPC 2900001621

No other PLANTERS products are affected. Consumers should discard the products or return them to the place of purchase for an exchange.
