The Palmer Candy company has expanded its recall of coated desert and snack products due to potential Salmonella contamination, encompassing additional best-by dates. These products, including some not labeled as Palmer brand, were distributed nationwide through various retailers in Walmart, HyVee, Target, Dollar General, and to distributors in Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
The recall follows notification from the liquid coating supplier about potential Salmonella contamination in an ingredient sourced from one of their suppliers. No illnesses have been reported, but production is suspended while the FDA and the company investigate.
Consumers who purchased White coated confectionery items from Palmer Candy are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For inquiries, contact the company at 800-831-0828.
