Enoki mushrooms recalled in Canada following testing finds Listeria

Lian Teng Produces Inc. recalled Meta brand Enoki Mushrooms due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was initiated following test results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The affected product was distributed in Ontario and potentially other provinces and territories in Canada.

There have been no reported illnesses linked to the consumption of this product as of the recall notice. Consumers are advised not to consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled products.

Listeria monocytogenes can contaminate food without affecting its appearance or smell, yet it can cause serious, sometimes life-threatening infections. Anyone who has consumed the recalled products and developed symptoms should seek medical attention and inform their healthcare provider about the potential Listeria exposure.
