Infant formula recall expanded following testing finds Cronobacter

Dairy Manufacturers Inc. of Prosper, TX, alerts consumers regarding a product associated with an ongoing recall. The recall, initiated on May 24, 2024, concerns Crecelac Infant 0-12 with an August 2025 expiration date. Manufactured at D.M. Mexicana Sa De Cv in Monterey, Mexico, the product tested positive for Cronobacter spp., a bacterium posing health risks.

Cronobacter-contaminated food may not display visible signs of spoilage but can cause severe illness, even fatalities, especially in newborns. Distributed primarily in March, April, and May 2024, the product was mainly distributed in Texas retail stores, packaged in a 12.4 oz. cardboard and aluminum can be labeled as infant formula.

Consumers should discontinue using the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported thus far.
