Over 4 million pounds of chocolate and confectionery products recalled due to Salmonella concerns

Clasen Quality Chocolate Inc. of Madison, WI, recalled 4,383,201 pounds of chocolate and confectionery products due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recall, initiated on May 3, 2024, affects products distributed in California, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Washington.

Anyone who has eaten the recalled products and developed symptoms of Salmonella infection should seek medical care. Infected individuals may not show symptoms but can still spread the infection.

2. 4M Caramel Flavored Confectionery Drop (R&D Sample): 1 lb

3. Milk Chocolate Flavored Confectionery Coating Bulk (MB): 87,045 lbs

4. Milk Chocolate Wafer (R&D Sample): 30 lbs

5. 1057556 Milk Chocolate Flavored IC Coating, Bulk tanker: 2,667,280 lbs

6. White Chocolate Wafer: 74,050 lbs

7. NGMO White Confectionery Wafer: 38,675 lbs

8. 1085343 10M Milk Chocolate Flavored Confectionery Drop (MB): 18,800 lbs

9. Snow White Chocolate, Bulk tanker: 178,460 lbs

10. Milk Chocolate Flavored Confectionery Coating (MB), Bulk tanker: 474,120 lbs

Consumers and retailers should discard or return these products to the place of purchase.
