Karnataka Milk Federation plans to introduce Nandini idli & dosa batter in two months

The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) plans to introduce Nandini idli and dosa batter within two months, entering a breakfast batter market currently dominated by iD, Asal, and MTR.

Recently, KMF issued a tender for the production and supply of idli and dosa batter under the Nandini brand. The selected manufacturer will produce approximately 109,000 kg of batter annually in various sizes: 450 grams and 900 grams. The tender is expected to be finalized by July, according to reports.

Under the tender conditions, the manufacturer must operate within the Bengaluru region and hold a valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license. The batter will incorporate nutritious whey protein powder sourced from KMF at prevailing rates and will maintain a shelf life of nine days, meeting KMF's microbiological quality standards throughout, as outlined in the document.
