Amazon is merging its telehealth marketplace into One Medical, streamlining healthcare services under one brand to attract more subscriptions. Renamed Amazon One Medical Pay-Per-Visit, the service offers virtual video or messaging consultations at reduced rates: $29 for messaging (from $35) and $49 for video (from $75).
Launched as Amazon Clinic in late 2022 and expanded nationally by summer 2023, it provides quick care for common ailments like pink eye and flu through various telehealth providers. Despite Amazon's $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical last year, consumer uptake has been modest.
The move integrates One Medical's primary care with Amazon's e-commerce, targeting Prime members with discounted memberships. This consolidation aims to simplify access to healthcare services, potentially increasing adoption among consumers seeking streamlined telehealth and primary care options.
