Elevate Snapchill Coffee recalled in Canada because of Clostridium botulinum concerns

Eclipse Coffee Roasters Ltd. is recalling its Eclipse Coffee Roasters brand Elevate Snapchill Coffee from the market due to potential growth of Clostridium botulinum, as reported by the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The recall was initiated following a similar recall in another country.

The recalled products were distributed in Alberta, Canada. CFIA is overseeing the removal of these products from retail shelves.

Botulism can cause muscle paralysis necessary for breathing, leading to potentially fatal outcomes if untreated. Symptoms of botulism poisoning typically appear between 6 hours to 10 days after consuming contaminated food, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The recalled product is Eclipse Coffee Roasters – Elevate Snapchill Coffee, packaged in 354 mL containers with UPC 7 86899 57461 6 and codes 13245, EXP 07/07/24. As of now, no illnesses related to this product have been reported.

Consumers are advised not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled product.
