ICMR ventures an array of unexplored courses to improve healthcare skills

In a bid to enhance India's healthcare sector, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has introduced new courses focusing on epidemiology, epidemic intelligence, and health education and communication. These initiatives target skill development among healthcare professionals and provide updated knowledge on medical equipment.

ICMR's courses cater to various healthcare roles, from frontline epidemiologists to communication specialists, aiming to meet industry demands.

The Online Health Communications Course offers comprehensive training in strategic communication, media management, and community engagement, vital for disseminating health information effectively.

The establishment of the ICMR School of Public Health (ICMR-SPH) aims to address the need for skilled personnel in epidemiology and epidemic intelligence, offering programs like the Master of Public Health and Field Epidemiology Training Programme for Non-Communicable Diseases (FETP-NCD).

ICMR also offers specialized courses in paramedical fields such as anaesthesia technician and medical lab technician. Collaborating with the NPTEL platform, ICMR has launched innovative courses like the Online Certificate Course on 'One Health', promoting the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.
