MiMedx Group, Inc. has launched Heliogen Fibrillar Collagen Matrix, a new particulate xenograft designed to treat complex wounds, especially in surgical settings. This shelf-stable product contains Type I and Type III collagen, mimicking natural connective tissue.
Heliogen, which has received 510(k) clearance, is a bovine-derived collagen matrix used for managing moderately to heavily exudating wounds and controlling minor bleeding. Its collagen content facilitates cell adhesion and migration, promoting wound healing. The matrix is available in particulate form, allowing it to be molded to fit various wound types, including pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, trauma wounds, and partial-thickness burns.
MiMedx, a leader in wound care, has over a decade of experience in treating chronic and difficult wounds. The company continues to expand its portfolio for wound care, burn, and surgical applications.
