Walmart apple juice recall extended to included juice sold at Aldi, Weis Walgreens

Refresco Beverages US Inc. has expanded its recall of Great Value Apple Juice to include 133,500 cases from multiple brands, such as Market Basket, Nature’s Nectar, Nice!, Solevita, Urban Meadow, Weis, and Wellsley Farms. This recall, initiated on August 26, 2024, is due to the presence of inorganic arsenic levels exceeding industry guidelines. The affected juices were sold at stores including Aldi, Walmart, Walgreens, BJ’s, Dollar General, and Weis.

Arsenic, particularly inorganic arsenic, poses significant health risks. Short-term exposure can cause nausea, vomiting, and numbness, while long-term exposure is linked to serious conditions like cancer and cardiovascular disease. Children are especially vulnerable, with potential adverse effects on brain development.

For a complete list of recalled products and codes, consumers are advised to avoid using these juices and either discard them or return them to their place of purchase.
