A & W brand Chicken Breast recalled in Canada because of undercooking

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is recalling A&W brand Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Portions due to undercooking. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) states this product was distributed nationwide in Canada.

Undercooked chicken can harbor bacteria such as Salmonella, which can lead to foodborne illnesses. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, typically appearing within 12 to 72 hours after consumption. Vulnerable groups, including infants, children, seniors, and individuals with weakened immune systems, face a higher risk of severe illness.

Anyone who consumed the recalled product and shows symptoms should seek medical attention, informing their doctors of possible Salmonella exposure.
