CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation in Beaumont, CA, is recalling approximately 61,839 pounds of steamed chicken soup dumplings due to possible contamination with hard plastic from a permanent marker pen, as reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (FSIS) Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The issue was identified following consumer complaints about finding hard plastic in Trader Joe’s steamed chicken soup dumplings. FSIS is concerned that some of the affected products may be in consumers’ freezers. Produced on Dec. 7, 2023, the recalled dumplings were distributed to Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.
The recalled product, packaged in 6-oz. boxes with six pieces of "TRADER JOE’S Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings," bearing lot codes "03.07.25.C1-1" and "03.07.25.C1-2" printed on the box. They feature the establishment number “P-46009” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
As of now, no adverse reactions or injuries have been confirmed. Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled items and to either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
