Eat-Sum-More Inc. is recalling Beef Biltong due to possible Salmonella contamination, as per the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) following test results. The affected products were distributed in Ontario and sold online across Canada. Specifically, the recalled item is the Eat Sum More Beef Biltong – Original, with variable sizes and UPC 0 84672 48931 8, bearing the code 0212 13188 2024.
As of the recall posting, no illnesses related to the consumption of this product have been reported. However, consumers should check for recalled products and avoid consuming them. Recalled items should be discarded or returned to the purchase location.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not exhibit signs of spoilage. While anyone can contract a Salmonella infection, certain groups are more susceptible to severe illness, such as infants, children, seniors, and individuals with weakened immune systems, according to the CDC. Those experiencing symptoms of Salmonella infection after consuming the recalled products should seek medical attention promptly.
