ConSup North America Inc. of Lincoln Park, NJ, is recalling about 85,984 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) sliced prosciutto ham from Germany. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) found the product was produced without equivalent inspection. The issue arose when Germany’s Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety alerted FSIS that H. Klümper GmbH & Co. KG, a German establishment, exported some lots without proper inspection to the U.S. for distribution. FSIS is concerned that some of the products may be in consumers' or retailers'
