Insign Medical collaborates with AAEON to develop AI colonoscopy solution

Insign Medical Technology has partnered with AAEON to create "EndoDASS," an AI-enhanced endoscopic technology designed to improve the precision and safety of colonoscopy procedures by helping gastroenterologists identify potentially malignant lesions.

This collaboration integrates AAEON’s BOXER-8641AI Fanless Embedded AI System with Insign’s advanced software, lowering procurement costs and providing doctors with more data for optimal treatment plans. EndoDASS enhances detection speed and accuracy during gastrointestinal exams, marking a significant advancement in medical assistive equipment.

Using convolutional neural networks (CNNs), 3D imaging, and data augmentation, EndoDASS helps doctors identify the exact section of the colon being examined. The system's high computational demands are met by the BOXER-8641AI, powered by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin platform, which delivers up to 200 TOPS of advanced inferencing performance for real-time analysis of endoscopic images. This module excels in real-time object detection, accelerated data transmission, and maintaining robust performance in demanding environments.
