Hot dog products recalled in three states due to lack of federal inspection

AW Farms of Argillite, KY, is recalling 6,900 pounds of hot dogs that were produced without federal inspection, as per the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall affects hot dogs shipped to restaurants and hotels in Ohio and West Virginia, where they may still be in storage. The products, produced since around May 30, 2024, and with a 45-day shelf life, include:

- 10-lb. boxes of “FRENCH CITY FOODS 6” 12-1 HOTDOGS”

- 10-lb. boxes of “PORK, BEEF, DEXTROSE, SALT, SUGAR MAPLE GEO BROWN ALL MEAT HOTDOGS”

- 10-lb. boxes of “GEO BROWN ALL BEEF HOTDOGS” 

The recall products bear establishment number “EST. 47635” inside the USDA mark of inspection. FSIS initiated the recall after a state public health partner reported the issue. There have been no confirmed adverse reactions reported. Consumers should discard or return the recalled items to their place of purchase.
