Molbio Diagnostics' Truenat System is empowering in revolutionising TB diagnosis in Nigeria

A recent study in *Public Health Action* demonstrated the impact of the WHO-endorsed Truenat system on diagnosing TB and Drug-Resistant TB (DR-TB) in Nigeria. Developed by India’s Molbio Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., Truenat significantly improved diagnosis efficiency in remote areas, reducing turnaround times and increasing case detection.

Nigeria, facing high TB rates and limited rapid testing access, benefited from 38 Truenat devices installed by the Stop TB Partnership and USAID. The study showed Truenat reduced diagnosis times, with 57.9% of cases identified in under 24 hours and a median treatment initiation of 1.5 days. TB detection rates rose by 1,704 cases, and DR-TB cases increased 4.5 times. Nigeria is expanding its Truenat network, with Molbio Diagnostics providing this multi-disease, portable device for TB, HIV, hepatitis, and more.
