Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS) which has been set up under the aegis of IGMPI registered as a non-profit society (under The Societies Registration Act, 1860) with the Government of India. Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Nutrition

Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Nutrition offers knowledge and skill up gradation among students/healthcare professionals as dietitians/doctors/public health professionals to deal with health and nutritional problems in masses. They will get a deeper insight of designing, planning, evaluating and monitoring Government based nutrition policies. This will help students to work closely with nutrition programmes in community setting.

Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS), IGMPI has designed the programme with a focus onpractical approach related to issues of major health and socio-economic concern in order to develop successful public health services. Students will have the chance to work on various case studies after completing all the modules in order to strengthen their hold for field work.

The objective of this programme is to demonstrate an understanding of the political, institutional, social and scientific influences on Public Health Nutrition and to translate research into practice through successful implementation and management of nutritional policies/programmes.

On completion of this programme students will be able to gain better insight to prevailing nutritional polices/programmes like Mid Day Meal, Janani Suraksha Yojana and many more. Students will be able to apply research methods, including epidemiology. The programme has been designed for professionals and students aspiring to work in the field of public health or research projects of Government.

A project work serves as a platform for students to showcase their critical thinking abilities, research skills, and effective written communication. Project work in the field of nutrition plays a vital role in advancing our understanding of various nutritional aspects and it involves conducting surveys to gather primary data. These surveys can be instrumental in exploring specific topics related to nutrition, such as dietary habits, nutrient intake, or factors influencing food choices. By collecting data directly from individuals through surveys, researchers can obtain unique insights and perspectives that contribute to the existing body of knowledge. Additionally, survey-based research allows students to assess trends and analyze correlations that would be helpful for preparing a diet plan, food content, recipes, meal patterns and clinical aspect in the field of Nutrition & Dietetics.

Eligibility

Any graduate in Science/Nutrition Science/Food and Nutrition/Pharma/Medical/Food Science & Technology/Related disciplines & Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification exam or awaiting their results, are eligible to apply.

Programme Duration

Minimum time in which a student can complete this Post Graduate Diploma programme is one year while a maximum of two consecutive year is allowed to complete the programme.

Effective online learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the programme lectures, online live classes and study material easily accessible. A comprehensive study material for all the modules in hard copies ensuring the needs of the audience. The accompanying training material is appropriately aligned with the current Industry’s expectations.

– Online classes for all the modules will be conducted on the weekends. Moreover, a doubt clearing session will also be scheduled before the examination.

All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the programme, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the programme. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Nutrition by Centre of Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS), IGMPI. For all the above-mentioned modules elaborate programme material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time.
