Programme Structure

Module 1: Foundations of Natural Farming

  • Introduction & importance of Natural Farming
  • Indigenous Traditional Knowledge and Models (Five Layer, SRI, Rice-Fish system) Fukuoka’s principles, Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) – Indian, Agroecology principles in natural farming)
  • Core Practices in Natural Farming (Mulching, crop rotation, and polyculture/Use of local seeds and traditional varieties/ Integration of livestock)
  • Module 2: Soil Nutrient, Bio inputs & Water Management

  • Understanding Soil Health: Soil as a living ecosystem (organic matter, chemicals and humus)
  • Bioinputs (Cow dung, compost, and green manure, Jeevamrut, Beejamrut, and Ghanjeevamrut (ZBNF inputs), Vermicomposting)
  • Water Conservation Techniques (Rainwater harvesting, Micro-irrigation and moisture management, Mulching for water retention)
  • Module 3: Pest and Disease Management in Natural Farming

    Module 4: Health and Nutrition (Dietary Diversity, nutri-garden)

    Module 5: Extension Methods, Services & Qualities of Para Extension Professionals

  • Individual Method, Group Method, Mass Method, Field Day- FGD/FSS
  • Community Mobilization through F2F Approach & Key skills
  • Schemes and programs knowledge of agriculture and allied sectors (Soil Health Card, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, Farm Mechanisation, Rainfed Area Development Scheme (RAD) under National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, National Food Security Mission (NFSM), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY), etc.)

    Eligibility

    Any graduation/ B. Tech/ B.Sc. in Agriculture/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ BE/ B. Pharma/ MBBS/ BDS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BAMS or any other discipline. Diploma holders are eligible for our Executive Diploma, Industry Certificate, and Certificate Programmes.

    The duration of the training is 3 days.

    The registration dates for this programme run by the Institute are updated timely on the webpage. Effective Online learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the programme lectures, online live classes. This gives a huge window of self-regulated and self-paced performance to the participants.

    Assessment & Certification

    Online assessment will be conducted at the end of the programme and after successful completion; the participants will be awarded Certificate in Natural Farming by Faculty of Food Safety and Quality, IGMPI.
