Nutrition and endocrinology are closely interconnected fields that study the relationship between the food we eat and the endocrine system, which regulates various physiological processes in the body through the release of hormones.
Understanding the intricate relationship between nutrition and endocrinology is essential for promoting overall health and preventing or managing conditions related to hormonal imbalances, such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and metabolic syndrome. Nutritional interventions are often part of the comprehensive approach to managing endocrine-related health issues.
The objective of this programme is to enhance your knowledge on all aspects of nutrition management including epidemiology of Endocrinology, Hormonal Changes during Adolescence, role of nutrition in endocrinology, Dietary and Lifestyle influences on growth, development, function, and resilience of Endocrine Glands, Treatment and Diagnostics in Endocrinology, etc.
Apart from this the main focus will be on diet planning for prevention as well as supporting the treatment of Endocrine disorders.
Understand endocrine disorder management and education provided to patients based on patient factors and their stage of this disease.

After completion of this course one can work as an dietitian specialist in Endocrinology, Patient care manager (Specialized in Endocrinology) at MNCs and Health centres, Research Dietitian at various organizations, Nutrition Nurse (specialized in Endocrinology) at Hospitals, health centers, nursing homes, Volunteers at Orphanages for patients, Dietician in hospitals and Nutritionists in health clinics, health centres and MNCs. Post Graduates can work as a project assistant, project associate, chief nutritionist in NGO's and private organizations.
It will also enable an individual to avail of jobs at government, community and private hospitals, community and private clinics, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies as an Endocrinology educator / Dietitian. One can work as an Endocrine counsellor and assist doctor in counselling their Endocrine disorder patients in any private clinic/hospital.

Eligibility
Any Graduate/ B.tech/ B.Sc. in Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ BE/ B.Pharma/ MBBS/ BDS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BAMS or any other discipline. Diploma holders are eligible for our Executive Diploma, Industry Certificate, and Certificate Programmes.

The duration to complete this programme is 1 year (Post Graduate Diploma), 6 months (Executive Diploma).

Examination & Certification
IGMPI follows a credit system based on all learning activities involved in studying for all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma Programmes. Each of your modules is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will have to earn all the credits assigned to your programme.
All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the programme, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the programme. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Nutritional Endocrinology by Centre of Nutrition and Dietetics Studies (CNDS), IGMPI. For all the above-mentioned modules elaborate programme material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time.
