Chemical Technology plays an essential role in chemical industries by working with chemists and engineers to plan, develop, test, and manufacture chemical products. Chemical technologists provide technical support or services in chemical-related fields. They may work under direct supervision or may work independently, depending on their specific position and duties. They participate in the actual design of experiments (DoE), and may be involved in the interpretation of experimental data. They may also be responsible for the operation of chemical processes in large plants, and may even assist chemical engineers in the design of the same. On the other hand Chemical technicians work in laboratories, making sure that processes are carried out safely, cost-effectively, and according to the highest professional standards.
Chemical Technology course provides an integral and integrated treatment of industrial-relevant problems of both chemistry and chemical engineering in chemical industry. Engineers have less knowledge of chemistry but good knowledge of technical side and chemist have good knowledge of chemistry but less knowledge of technical side, Chemical Technology bring it on one platform. This work combines the four disciplines of Chemical Technology - Chemistry, Thermal and Mechanical Unit Operations, Chemical Reaction Engineering and General Chemical Technology.
