Clinical Technologies programme is an innovative approach of combining technologies with clinical exposure. The study of Clinical Technologies comprises of a broad array of modern era digital, diagnostic, and therapeutic applications in medical devices. Clinical technologies refer to the wide range of digital tools, platforms, devices, and data management systems that support the planning, conduct, monitoring, and analysis of healthcare delivery and clinical research. In modern healthcare and clinical trials, these technologies play a crucial role in improving efficiency, accuracy, patient safety, regulatory compliance, reducing operational costs, and accelerating the development of safe and effective medical treatments. This branch is a fascinating multidisciplinary area of study that entails the application of technical skills in order to assist practitioners like doctors and physicians in their healthcare practices. Faculty of Clinical Research and Healthcare Administration, IGMPI designed this programme especially for professionals who support and advance patient care by applying clinical and technical skills to healthcare technology or those who are seeking such job roles.

Healthcare has increasingly become technology driven and requires trained manpower to keep pace with the growing demand for professionals in the field. An important aspect of this programme is simultaneous, long term and detailed exposure to clinical environment as well as to technological development activity. This is aimed at making students understand the process of identifying unmet clinical and technical needs and thus, contributing to the development of digital and clinical healthcare sectors. Roles of clinical technologists include training and supervising biomedical equipment technicians (BMETs), working with governmental regulators on hospital inspections/audits, and serving as technological consultants for other hospital staff (i.e. physicians, administrators, IT, etc.). Clinical technologists also advise medical device producers regarding prospective design technical improvements based on clinical experiences, as well as monitor the progression of the state-of-the-art in order to redirect hospital procurement patterns accordingly.
