Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Water Resource Technology and Management (PGDWRTM/EDWRTM)

The Post Graduate Diploma / Executive Diploma in Water Resource Technology and Management is designed to equip professionals with the technical expertise and strategic knowledge needed to address global water challenges. As water scarcity, pollution, and climate change impact communities worldwide, sustainable water management has become a critical priority. This program offers an in-depth understanding of water resource distribution, conservation strategies, treatment technologies, and governance frameworks. With a strong focus on practical applications and policy integration, students will gain the skills to develop innovative solutions for water security, sustainable usage, and efficient management in urban, industrial, and agricultural settings.

The curriculum begins with an overview of water resources and hydrology, exploring global water distribution, surface and groundwater management, and consumption patterns. It then covers climate change and water sustainability, emphasizing integrated water resource management (IWRM), conservation strategies, and climate adaptation techniques. Modules on water quality and treatment technologies delve into pollution sources, emerging contaminants, and physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes, ensuring participants understand advanced purification and remediation methods. The program also addresses groundwater management and recharge techniques, highlighting both natural and artificial recharge methods to enhance water availability.

Further, students will explore water conservation, reuse, and resource management techniques, including rainwater harvesting, efficient irrigation, and industrial water reuse. The course also examines hydro-meteorological hazards, such as floods and tropical cyclones, and their impact on water systems. A crucial component is water-related policies and legislation, where participants will
analyze national and international frameworks, including groundwater regulations and environmental protection laws. The program concludes with real-world case studies and practical applications, providing hands-on experience with cutting-edge water management solutions. Ideal for engineers, environmental professionals, policymakers, and researchers, this diploma prepares graduates to lead sustainable water management initiatives and contribute to global water security.
