Laboratory Management Systems (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) Internal Auditor Training (CIMS)

This course is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of the auditable clauses of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, which outlines the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. It includes an overview of the laboratory accreditation process and an in-depth explanation of all standard clauses. Additionally, the course thoroughly covers the audit process for this standard.

Key aspects of the laboratory accreditation process are explained in detail, including intermediate checks, metrological traceability, method validation, measurement uncertainty, decision rules, root cause analysis, and risk and opportunity assessment. Specific guidance is given for preparing system documents such as quality manuals and system procedures. The course also elaborates on various important requirements of accreditation agencies.

To aid learning, several quizzes are included to help participants assess their understanding of the topics covered. The course provides valuable materials that can be applied to internal audits and enhance technical knowledge. It is highly interactive, encouraging participants to ask questions and share experiences gained through regular audits and industry work. The course features a series of lectures combined with individual and group exercises to facilitate better learning.

This course will enable you to:

  • Explain the understanding on laboratory practices and basic requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, process-based Laboratory Management System (LMS) model for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the role of internal audits in maintaining and improving an LMS, with reference to the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle.
  • Describe the role and responsibilities of an auditor in planning, conducting, reporting, and following up on internal LMS audits, in accordance with the principles outlined in ISO 19011, where appropriate.
  • Plan, conduct, report, and follow up on an LMS audit to determine conformity with ISO/IEC 17025, following the principles of ISO 19011 as applicable.

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma and Professional Certifications Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma and Diploma holders of two to three years course duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma.

Assessment & Certification

Online assessment will be conducted at the end of the programme and after successful completion; the participants will be awarded Laboratory Management Systems (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) Internal Auditor by Faculty of Food Safety and Quality (FFSQ), IGMPI.

Every student is required to observe a disciplined behaviour during her/his classes, assessments & examinations and to follow instructions from the Professors. Any act of indiscipline may result into discredit & it will be mentioned in her/his academic report.
