Workshop on: Nutrient Requirements and Adequacy

Nutrient requirements and adequacy are the foundation of human nutrition and public health. Meeting recommended dietary allowances (RDAs) for various age groups is essential for growth, development, disease prevention, and optimal functioning of the body. Inadequate intake can lead to deficiencies and long-term health complications, while excesses may lead to toxicity or metabolic burden.

This workshop focuses on the scientific understanding of nutrient needs, factors influencing them, and how to assess and ensure nutritional adequacy across different populations.

Advantages of Certification:

  • Enhances ability to perform nutrient gap assessments
  • Strengthens program planning for specific target groups (children, elderly, athletes, pregnant women)
  • Supports dietary counseling with evidence-based RDA alignment
  • Helps professionals meet global and national nutritional guidelines
