The role of a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) is critical in a food processing facility, ensuring the effective management and preparation of the Food Safety Plan (FSP), validation of preventive controls, and more. By completing specialized training under a standardized curriculum recognized by the FDA, you can become a PCQI.
This training equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to implement a Food Safety Plan (FSP) and Preventive Controls (PC) as mandated by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) of 2011, regulated by the USFDA. It builds confidence to effectively apply FSP and PC in compliance with FSMA requirements.
Over five days, you will gain a thorough understanding of how to develop and implement an FSP, including conducting hazard analysis, identifying potential hazards and allergens, and determining preventive measures. The course provides a step-by-step approach to addressing key elements, such as on-site process verification, creating essential records and documentation, and preparing for USFDA inspections.

Module 3: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other prerequisite programs (PRPs)
Module 4: Biological hazards in food safety
Module 5: Chemical, physical, and economically motivated hazards
Module 6: Initial steps for developing a Food Safety Plan
Module 7: Resources and tools for creating Food Safety Plans
Module 8: Conducting hazard analysis and determining preventive controls
Module 9: Process-specific preventive controls
Module 10: Preventive controls for food allergens
Module 11: Sanitation-related preventive controls
Module 12: Supply-chain preventive controls
Module 13: Procedures for verification and validation
Module 14: Record-keeping practices and requirements
Module 15: Developing and implementing a recall plan
Module 16: Overview of FSPCA regulations and requirements
Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma and Professional Certificate Programmes. For Executive Diploma programmes, you need to have at least 1 year of work experience.
The duration of the training is 5 days.

– All the efforts are made by IGMPI faculty members to make the entire programme modules easily understandable.
– Assessment and evaluation for all the programme modules in order to enhance the levels of competencies and skills of the participants leading towards the objective of application in the job.
– At the end of each programme modules, the trainers shall obtain feedback from the participants using specially designed questionnaires.
– All learning and training delivery initiatives shall be conducted in English.
Online assessment will be conducted at the end of the programme and after successful completion; the participants will be awarded Certificate in PCQI Professional by Faculty of Food Science and Technology, IGMPI.
