Bharat Serums introduces project ?Janani? to educate and empower women on effective breastfeeding practices

Bharat Serums & Vaccines (BSV) Ltd. launched Project 'Janani' to educate and empower mothers about breastfeeding. This initiative dispels myths, offers counseling, and teaches effective practices. Partnering with ARTIST Academy, BSV provides specialized training for healthcare workers, including nurses, ASHA, and Anganwadi workers, through a certified Breastfeeding Facilitator course.

Janani equips these professionals to advocate for breastfeeding in their communities, ensuring mothers receive the necessary support. The course is certified by the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) with backing from FOGSI and SAFOG.

The initiative addresses barriers to breastfeeding in India, such as lack of awareness and inadequate support. By fostering community engagement and expert guidance, Janani aims to enhance maternal health and improve infant outcomes. It emphasizes breastfeeding as essential for child health and survival, contributing to a healthier society and empowering mothers to embrace their roles confidently.
