NanoSpeed’s Vitamin D Test Approved by Health Canada
Health Canada has approved NanoSpeed Diagnostics’ Test4D Serum, a point-of-care device that measures vitamin D levels in blood. Initially launched in 2013 and CE-marked by the EU in 2014, the test now gains domestic approval following the ISO 13485 MDSAP certification of NanoSpeed’s Alberta facility.
Test4D offers both qualitative and quantitative results and is designed for rapid, fingertip-based testing outside traditional labs. It addresses a critical health issue, with 60% of Canadian adults having low levels of 25-OH vitamin D, linked to conditions such as bone disorders, heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.
CEO Dr. Seema Gupta highlighted the importance of offering this globally sold test in Canada, citing its potential to reduce diagnostic delays, errors, and healthcare costs.
