The pharmaceutical industry is rapidly evolving with the integration of computational technologies, big data analytics, and bioinformatics approaches into every stage of the drug development pipeline. Traditional laboratory-based research is increasingly complemented by in silico methods, which save time, reduce costs, and improve the accuracy of predictions in drug discovery and development.
Pharmacoinformatics—an interdisciplinary field combining pharmacy, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and systems biology—has emerged as a critical skill area for modern pharma professionals. From drug target identification to virtual screening, molecular modelling, clinical data management, and regulatory informatics, Pharmacoinformatics empowers professionals to bridge the gap between experimental sciences and digital tools.
This Certification Course in Pharmacoinformatics is designed specifically for working professionals and advanced learners in the pharma sector who aspire to strengthen their computational expertise, stay competitive in the global market, and open career opportunities in drug discovery, clinical research, regulatory affairs, and pharmacovigilance.
The curriculum is structured to give professionals both conceptual clarity and hands-on training with widely used open-source and industry-standard tools.

Examination & Certification
IGMPI follows a credit system based on all learning activities involved in studying for all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma and Certificate Programmes. Each of your modules is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will have to earn all the credits assigned to your programme.
All the participants are expected to appear for online exam and are also obliged to submit assignments after each module. After successful completion the participants will be awarded PG Diploma in Pharmacoinformatics by IGMPI. For all the above mentioned modules elaborate programme material, assignment and case studies would be provided by the Institute from time to time. Details get updated on the webpage as well.
Placement Assistance & Corporate Relations
The Institute has partnered with many organizations for providing with placement assistance to in its participants. Besides, it has a robust placement cell comprised of senior level Human Resources professionals and Talent Acquisition experts which maintains close links with business and industry. This cell is continuously engaged in promoting the employability of our participants and encouraging the concerned Human Resources department and Hiring Managers to recruit/hire our participants for their vacant positions. The efforts of our placement cell also include helping with professional resume writing & interview skills.
In recent months the Institute has witnessed more and more participation from professionals working with global pharmaceutical, healthcare like Jubilant Biosys, Oracle (Bengaluru), Lab-Informatics (Hyderabad), Sygna Solutions (Hyderabad), Medtronic, Foster Corporation, IPCA Laboratories, Calyx, Bliss GVS Pharma, SeQuent, Certara (Hyderabad), Sanofi, etc. The IGMPI's Corporate Resource Division actively recommends our students and training participants for various job requirements and specialized roles to Human Resource, Talent Acquisition as well as the heads of various departments in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare industries on regular basis.
Professionals trained in Pharmacoinformatics can pursue diverse and evolving career roles across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare IT, and regulatory sectors. They can work as Computational Drug Discovery Scientists or Molecular Modelers, applying cheminformatics and molecular docking tools to design and optimize drug candidates. Many find roles as Bioinformatics or Pharmacogenomics Analysts, where they integrate genomic and proteomic data to support personalized medicine initiatives. In the clinical and regulatory domain, opportunities exist as Clinical Data Scientists, Regulatory Informatics Specialists, and Pharmacovigilance Data Analysts, focusing on managing trial data, preparing electronic submissions, and ensuring drug safety monitoring. Within contract research organizations (CROs) and pharma companies, they may serve as ADMET Prediction Specialists, Network Pharmacologists, or Drug Repurposing Researchers, contributing to cost-effective drug discovery pipelines. Increasingly, healthcare IT and AI-driven pharma startups are recruiting AI/ML Scientists, Data Scientists, and Computational Toxicologists with Pharmacoinformatics expertise to build predictive models for drug efficacy and safety. With the industry’s shift toward digital transformation, roles in Big Data Analytics, Real-world Evidence (RWE) analysis, and Systems Pharmacology are rapidly expanding, making Pharmacoinformatics a future-proof career path with
