Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Food Service Management

Food Service Management is a multidisciplinary field that combines principles of food science, nutrition, management, and hospitality to ensure the efficient planning, preparation, and delivery of safe, nutritious, and high-quality food in commercial, institutional, and industrial settings.

It is about:

  • Understanding and solving the challenges of managing food service operations.
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and quality standards in kitchens and service areas.
  • Planning and managing large-scale food production and catering services.
  • Designing and implementing efficient systems for procurement, storage, menu planning, and cost control.
  • Enhancing customer satisfaction and service delivery in hospitality and institutional food sectors.

Our Food Service Management programme is designed to equip students and professionals with both technical knowledge of food and nutrition, and managerial skills required to excel in hotels, restaurants, catering, institutional kitchens, hospitals, airlines, and other food service establishments.

Module 11: Hospitality and Customer Service Management

Module 12: Legal Aspects, Food Service Standards, and Compliance (FSSAI, ISO, HACCP)

Module 13: Entrepreneurship and Franchise Management in Food Services

Module 14: Financial Management in Food Service Operations

Module 15: Marketing and Business Development for Food Services

Module 16: Practical Training, Demonstrations, and Case Studies

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma and Professional Certification Programmes.

Candidates from Food Science, Nutrition, Hotel Management, Hospitality, and allied fields will find the programme especially relevant.

Programme Duration

The minimum duration to complete the PG diploma programme is 12 months and maximum is 24 months. The minimum duration to complete the executive diploma programme is 6 months and maximum is 12 months.

Programme Mode

Registrations are currently open for regular and Online Live Classes/Part-time both modes.

Examination & Certification

IGMPI follows a credit-based system across all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma, and Certificate Programmes. Each module carries 4 credits.

  • Timely submission of assignments after each module.
  • Final online examination at the end of the programme.
  • Successful participants will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Food Service Management by the Faculty of Food Safety and Quality, IGMPI.

Elaborate programme materials, self-assessment exercises, and project details will be shared by the Institute periodically.
