The Professional Certification in Culture Media Quality Control offered by the Faculty of Food Safety and Quality, IGMPI provides a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of ISO 11133:2014 for preparation, production, storage, and performance testing of microbiological culture media used in food, water, pharmaceutical, and environmental laboratories.
The programme is designed to enable participants to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and reproducibility of microbiological test results through validated media preparation and quality control procedures. It also integrates laboratory accreditation requirements aligned with ISO 17025.
The course includes practical guidance on sterility testing, productivity testing, selectivity, reference cultures, media storage, documentation, and audit readiness. In addition, the programme covers IS 17383:2020 to provide Indian regulatory alignment for microbiological testing of food and water.
