Norway-based Mode Sensors has received US FDA clearance for Re:Balans, a non-invasive wearable device designed to continuously monitor patients’ fluid status. Targeted for adults with fluid management conditions—including dehydration and fluid overload in renal disease—the sensor uses proprietary thoracic bioimpedance technology to provide real-time hydration insights. This innovation addresses the long-standing limitations of manual charting and blood tests, which often fail to accurately reflect true fluid balance. With FDA clearance achieved, Mode Sensors is conducting a Series A funding round to support the US commercial launch and expand collaborations across gastrointestinal, surgical, and geriatric care settings. The company’s goal is to enhance clinical decision-making, reduce complications, and shorten hospital stays by enabling precise fluid management in wards and intensive care environments.
