A Post Graduate Diploma in Farm Mechanization & Precision Farming is a specialized programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to enhance agricultural productivity through the efficient use of modern machinery and advanced technologies. The programme focuses on improving farm efficiency, reducing labour dependency, and optimizing resource utilization in contemporary agriculture. This diploma provides a comprehensive understanding of farm mechanization, including the use, selection, and management of agricultural machinery for various farming operations. It also introduces learners to precision farming techniques that utilize data-driven approaches for site-specific crop management and improved decision-making. The Diploma in Farm Mechanization & Precision Farming includes key areas such as farm machinery systems, precision agriculture technologies, geospatial applications, automation, resource management, and sustainable farming practices.
Module 1: Introduction to Farm Mechanization and Precision Agriculture:
Overview of mechanization, its importance, and role in modern agriculture
Module 2: Basics of Farm Power Sources:
Types of power sources including human, animal, and mechanical power with focus on tractors and engines
Module 3: Primary and Secondary Tillage Equipment:
Tools and machinery used for land preparation and soil conditioning
Module 4: Sowing and Planting Machinery:
Equipment used for seed placement, transplanting, and precision planting
Module 5: Irrigation and Water Management Equipment:
Systems and tools for efficient water application and management
Module 6: Plant Protection Equipment:
Sprayers, dusters, and modern techniques for crop protection
Module 7: Harvesting and Post-Harvest Machinery:
Machinery used for harvesting, threshing, and post-harvest handling
Module 8: Farm Machinery Maintenance and Management:
Maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and efficient machinery management
Module 9: Introduction to Precision Farming Technologies:
Concepts and principles of precision agriculture and site-specific management
Module 10: Geospatial Technologies in Agriculture:
Use of GPS, GIS, and remote sensing in farm management
Module 11: Sensors and Data Collection Systems:
Tools and technologies for collecting soil, crop, and environmental data
Module 12: Variable Rate Technology (VRT):
Application of inputs at variable rates based on field variability
Module 13: Automation, Robotics, and Smart Farming:

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma, and Professional Certification Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma, and diploma holders of two to three years duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma.
The minimum duration to complete the PG diploma programme is 12 months and maximum is 24 months. The minimum duration to complete the executive diploma programme is 6 months and maximum is 12 months.

All participants are required to submit completed assessment assignments and appear for a final online examination. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Farm Mechanization & Precision Farming by Centre for Sustainable Agriculture Technology, IGMPI.
Every student is expected to maintain discipline during classes, assessments, and examinations and follow instructions from faculty members. Any act of indiscipline may be recorded in the academic report.
For the Post Graduate Diploma and Undergraduate Diploma Programmes, we will provide placement assistance after the completion of the programme. The Institute has partnered with many organizations for providing placement assistance to its students. The robust placement cell comprises senior level Human Resources professionals and Talent Acquisition experts which maintains close links with business and industry. The efforts of our placement cell also include helping with professional resume writing, interview skills & conducting mock interviews etc.
