A Post Graduate Diploma in Farm Mechanization & Precision Farming is a specialized programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to enhance agricultural productivity through the efficient use of modern machinery and advanced technologies. The programme focuses on improving farm efficiency, reducing labour dependency, and optimizing resource utilization in contemporary agriculture. This diploma provides a comprehensive understanding of farm mechanization, including the use, selection, and management of agricultural machinery for various farming operations. It also introduces learners to precision farming techniques that utilize data-driven approaches for site-specific crop management and improved decision-making. The Diploma in Farm Mechanization & Precision Farming includes key areas such as farm machinery systems, precision agriculture technologies, geospatial applications, automation, resource management, and sustainable farming practices.

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma, and Professional Certification Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma, and diploma holders of two to three years duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma.

Programme Duration

The minimum duration to complete the PG diploma programme is 12 months and maximum is 24 months. The minimum duration to complete the executive diploma programme is 6 months and maximum is 12 months.

Registrations are currently open for regular and Part-time (Online Live Classes) both modes.

Examination & Certification

All participants are required to submit completed assessment assignments and appear for a final online examination. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Farm Mechanization & Precision Farming by Faculty of Food Safety and Quality, IGMPI.

Discipline in Classes and Examination

Every student is expected to maintain discipline during classes, assessments, and examinations and follow instructions from faculty members. Any act of indiscipline may be recorded in the academic report.

The Institute has established collaborations with leading organizations in agricultural engineering, farm mechanization, and precision agriculture to provide placement assistance. The placement cell, comprising experienced HR and Talent Acquisition professionals, maintains strong industry linkages with agritech firms, equipment manufacturers, and research organizations.

We focus on enhancing employability by building connections with HR teams and recruiters, with emphasis on emerging areas like smart farming, automation, GIS, and drone technology. Participants are also supported through resume building, interview preparation, and mock interviews.

In recent months, there has been increased participation from professionals associated with organizations such as Mahindra & Mahindra (FES), John Deere India, TAFE, Escorts Kubota, CNH Industrial, AGCO, Trimble Agriculture, DeHaat, NinjaCart, ITC Agri Business Division, and other leading agritech and farm machinery companies.

With increasing mechanization and adoption of smart technologies in agriculture, there is a growing demand for skilled professionals in farm mechanization and precision farming. Diploma holders can work in agricultural machinery companies, agri-tech startups, research institutions, and government agencies or establish their own consultancy or service-based ventures.
