Professional Certification in Agri Commodity Management (CACM)

Professional Certification in Agri Commodity Management is a specialized programme designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to manage agricultural commodities across the value chain, from production to consumption. The programme focuses on efficient handling, storage, marketing, and trading of agricultural produce to enhance value realization and minimize losses. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of agricultural markets, supply chain systems, and commodity trading practices. It aims to prepare individuals to effectively manage post-harvest operations, quality control, logistics, and market linkages in both domestic and international agri-commodity sectors. The Professional Certification in Agri Commodity Management includes key areas such as supply chain management, post-harvest technology, quality assurance, commodity trading, financial management, logistics, and sustainable agricultural marketing practices.

Farm-to-market flow, stakeholders, supply chain dynamics, and logistics integration

Module 4: Post-Harvest Management and Storage:

Handling practices, storage systems, warehousing, and loss prevention techniques

Module 5: Grading, Standardization, and Quality Control:

Quality parameters, grading systems, certification standards, and compliance

Module 6: Agricultural Marketing Systems:

Traditional and modern marketing channels, mandis, direct marketing, and digital platforms

Module 7: Commodity Pricing and Market Dynamics:

Price discovery, demand-supply factors, and market trends

Module 8: Agricultural Trade and Export Management:

Export procedures, documentation, and international trade practices

Module 9: Commodity Derivatives and Risk Management:

Futures, options, hedging strategies, and price risk management

Module 10: Warehousing, Financial & Digital Management:

Warehousing infrastructure, cold chains, financing, commodity exchanges, and digital technologies (E-NAM, blockchain, data analytics)

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma, and Professional Certification Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma, and diploma holders of two to three years duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma.

Programme Duration

The minimum duration to complete the Professional Certification programme is 6 months and maximum is 12 months.

Programme Mode

Registration is currently open for Part-time (Online Live Classes) mode.

Programme Deliverables

A comprehensive study material for all the modules in hard copies ensuring the needs of the audience. The accompanying training material is appropriately aligned with the current Industry’s expectations.

  • Interactive or online live sessions on all key areas of the programme giving all flexibility to the participants.

  • Online Live Classes/Part-time for all the modules will be conducted on the weekends. Moreover, a doubt clearing session will also be scheduled before the examination.

  • All the efforts are made by IGMPI faculty members to make the entire programme modules easily understandable.

  • Assessment and evaluation for all the programme modules in order to enhance the levels of competencies and skills of the participants leading towards the objective of application in the job.

  • At the end of each programme modules, the trainers shall obtain feedback from the participants using specially designed questionnaires.

  • All learning and training delivery initiatives shall be conducted in English.

Assessment & Certification

All the participants are expected to appear for online assessment. After successfully qualifying the examination, the participants will be awarded Professional Certification in Agri Commodity Management by Faculty of Food Safety and Quality, IGMPI. For all the above-mentioned elaborate study resources, Assessment test papers and case studies would be provided by the Institute from time to time. Details get updated on the website as well. The certification will be awarded after the required levels of knowledge, skills, professionalism and attitude are assessed through the IGMPI assessment process.

Discipline in Classes and Examination

Every student is required to observe a disciplined behaviour during her/his classes, assessments & examinations and to follow instructions from the Professors. Any act of indiscipline may result into discredit & it will be mentioned in her/his academic report.

The Institute has established collaborations with leading organizations in agri commodity trading, supply chain, and agri-business sectors to provide placement assistance. The placement cell, comprising experienced HR and Talent Acquisition professionals, maintains strong connections with commodity firms, exporters, processors, and agri-trading companies.

We focus on enhancing employability with emphasis on commodity markets, trading practices, supply chain management, and agri-business operations. Participants are also supported through resume building, interview preparation, and mock interviews.

In recent months, there has been growing participation from professionals associated with organizations such as ITC Agri Business Division, Cargill India, ADM India, NAFED, Adani Wilmar Ltd., Godrej Agrovet Ltd., Emami Agrotech Ltd., SLCM (Sohan Lal Commodity Management), StarAgri Warehousing & Collateral Management Ltd., and other leading agri commodity companies in India.
