Telangana DCA Enforces QR Code and Helpline Display for ADR Reporting

In a move to strengthen patient safety, the Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) has mandated that all licensed retail and wholesale pharmacies prominently display the PvPI Quick Response (QR) code and toll-free number (1800-180-3024) for reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs). The circular, issued by Director General Shahnawaz Qasim, aligns with CDSCO directives and the national Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), ensuring unified compliance across the state.

The QR code links directly to the online ADR reporting platform, while the toll-free number provides an alternative for those less digitally adept. All reports feed into the PvPI Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring System (ADRMS), coordinated by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, supporting timely detection and analysis of drug-related risks.

Telangana DCA emphasized that adherence is compulsory, reinforcing accountability across the pharmaceutical supply chain and empowering the public to actively contribute to drug safety and early detection of medication-related harm.
