Food technology blends chemistry, biology, and engineering to safely process, preserve, package, and distribute food. Students learn to extend shelf life, scale up recipes for mass production, create new food products, and meet strict global safety and nutritional standards.
Food Technology is a multidisciplinary field consisting of study of selection, packaging, preservation, processing, distribution, and use of safe, nutritious, and wholesome food.
It is about: - Understanding and solving the problems of developing a safe, healthy, and nutritious food. - Testing the quality and safety of food products. - Inventing novel products using new ingredients. - Designing processes.
Our Food Technology programme is designed in such a way that it helps students and professionals explore new food sources, discover new ways to formulate processed foods safe and devise new ways to process, store, preserve and distribute food.

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma and Professional Certifications Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma and Diploma holders of two to three years course duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma.
The minimum duration to complete the Professional Certification programme is 6 months and maximum is 12 months.
Registration is currently open for Part-time (Online Live Classes) mode.
All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the programme, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the programme. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Food Science and Technology by Faculty of Food Safety and Quality, IGMPI. For all the above-mentioned modules elaborate programme material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time. Every student is required to observe a disciplined behaviour during her/his classes, assessments & examinations and to follow instructions from the Professors. Any act of indiscipline may result into discredit & it will be mentioned in her/his academic report.
The Institute has partnered with many organizations for providing with placement assistance to its participants. The robust placement cell comprises of senior level Human Resources professionals and Talent Acquisition experts which maintains close links with business and industry. We are engaged in promoting the employability of our participants by maintaining good rapport and relation with HR cell and recruiting managers of leading Food and Agriculture companies across the globe. The efforts of our placement cell also include helping with professional resume writing, interview skills & conducting mock interviews etc.

Food Technologist can work in various parts of the economy but most especially agro-allied industries, food processing/production, and research organizations. They can expect to find employment in the food industry (both national and international), Research Institutes and government agencies in areas such as food manufacturing, food safety, food analysis, brewing, cereals and baking, dairy products, minimally processed fruits and vegetables, food additives, product development, sensory evaluation and winemaking.
