Professional Certification in Industrial Safety Management (PCISM)

The Professional Certification in Industrial Safety Management (PCISM) is a specialized programme designed to develop professional competencies in industrial safety, occupational health, environmental protection, and risk management across diverse industrial sectors. With increasing emphasis on workplace safety, regulatory compliance, sustainable operations, and employee well-being, organizations today require qualified professionals capable of identifying hazards, managing risks, and implementing effective safety management systems.

The programme provides a comprehensive understanding of industrial hazards, occupational health risks, process safety, emergency preparedness, safety audits, accident investigation, and environmental health and safety (EHS) practices. The curriculum integrates contemporary developments in industrial safety, including Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS), Process Safety Management (PSM), ESG and sustainability considerations, digital safety technologies, safety analytics, workplace wellness, and resilience planning. The programme is aligned with the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Code, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ILO guidelines, and other globally recognized best practices.

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma and Professional Certifications Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma and Diploma holders of two to three years course duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma.

Diploma holders and individuals seeking to develop specialized competencies in industrial safety and occupational health management may also apply subject to institute guidelines.

Programme Duration

The minimum duration to complete the Professional Certification programme is 6 months and maximum is 12 months.

Programme Mode

Registration is currently open for Part-time (Online Live Classes) mode.

The programme is conducted through weekend live interactive sessions complemented by self-learning resources, recorded lectures, assignments, and project work.

Examination & Certification

The Institute follows a structured assessment and evaluation framework designed to assess conceptual understanding and practical application of industrial safety principles.

Participants are required to successfully complete module-wise assignments, assessments, project work, and an online proctored final examination. Upon successful completion of all academic requirements, participants will be awarded the Professional Certification in Industrial Safety Management (PCISM) by the Centre for Environmental Health and Safety, IGMPI.

Comprehensive study materials, assignments, practical exercises, and project guidelines shall be provided throughout the programme duration.

Discipline in Classes and Examination

Every student is required to observe a disciplined behaviour during her/his classes, assessments & examinations and to follow instructions from the Professors. Any act of indiscipline may result into discredit & it will be mentioned in her/his academic report.

For the Post Graduate Diploma and Undergraduate Diploma Programmes, we will provide placement assistance after the completion of the programme.
