Indoco’s Goa Facility Completes UK-MHRA cGMP Inspection Without Major Observations

Indoco Remedies Limited has successfully completed a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) inspection conducted by the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (UK-MHRA) at its solid dosage manufacturing facility in Goa.

The regulatory inspection was carried out at Plant I between September 7 and 9, 2026. According to the company, the assessment concluded without any critical or major observations, indicating satisfactory compliance with the quality and manufacturing standards reviewed by the UK regulator.

The outcome is particularly significant because the Goa facility supplies pharmaceutical products to several highly regulated international markets. These include the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa. The plant is expected to account for approximately 30 per cent of Indoco’s total international business.

The facility manufactures solid and liquid dosage forms and has previously received approvals from a number of international regulatory authorities. Its regulatory credentials include approvals from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the Malta Medicines Authority. The facility also holds WHO-GMP approval and has undergone an audit by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA).

For pharmaceutical manufacturers, successful regulatory inspections are important indicators of the effectiveness of quality systems operating at a production site. They also play an important role in maintaining access to regulated export markets.

The latest UK-MHRA inspection therefore represents an important compliance milestone for Indoco and reinforces the growing emphasis on consistent GMP implementation across pharmaceutical manufacturing operations serving global markets.
