A Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management is a specialized programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to facilitate the transfer of agricultural technologies, innovations, and best practices to farming communities. The programme focuses on strengthening communication, advisory, and management skills necessary for promoting agricultural development and rural transformation. This diploma provides a comprehensive understanding of extension systems, farmer education, rural development programmes, agricultural policies, and participatory approaches to technology dissemination. It also introduces learners to modern communication tools, digital extension services, and project management techniques that enhance outreach effectiveness. The Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management includes key areas such as extension education, communication strategies, rural sociology, programme planning, agricultural entrepreneurship, ICT applications, and sustainable agricultural development.

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma and Professional Certifications Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma and Diploma holders of two to three years course duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma.
The minimum duration to complete the PG diploma programme is 12 months and maximum is 24 months. The minimum duration to complete the executive diploma programme is 6 months and maximum is 12 months.

All participants are required to submit completed assessment assignments and appear for a final online examination. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma/Executive Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management by the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture Technology, IGMPI.
Every student is required to observe a disciplined behaviour during her/his classes, assessments & examinations and to follow instructions from the Professors. Any act of indiscipline may result into discredit & it will be mentioned in her/his academic report.
The Institute has established collaborations with organizations working in agricultural development, rural livelihoods, agribusiness, and extension services to provide placement assistance. The placement cell, comprising experienced HR and Talent Acquisition professionals, maintains strong industry linkages with government agencies, NGOs, agribusiness firms, producer organizations, and development institutions.
We focus on enhancing employability by building connections with recruiters and extension professionals, with emphasis on emerging areas such as digital agriculture, ICT-enabled extension, climate-smart agriculture, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), and rural entrepreneurship. Participants are also supported through resume building, interview preparation, and mock interviews.
In recent months, there has been increased participation from professionals associated with organizations such as NABARD, MANAGE, ICAR Institutes, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), ITC Agri Business Division, DeHaat, BAIF Development Research Foundation, Digital Green, PRADAN, and other leading agricultural development and extension organizations.
With the increasing emphasis on sustainable agriculture, rural development, farmer advisory services, and digital extension systems, there is a growing demand for qualified professionals in agricultural extension management. Diploma holders can work with government departments, agricultural universities, research institutions, NGOs, agribusiness companies, farmer producer organizations, and rural development agencies.
Opportunities also exist in agricultural consultancy, community development projects, digital agriculture platforms, rural entrepreneurship promotion, and capacity-building initiatives. Professionals in this field play a critical role in bridging the gap between research and farming communities, thereby contributing to agricultural productivity, rural prosperity, and sustainable development.
