Telesurgery Gains Momentum as SS Innovations and XCath Advance Robotic Care

SS Innovations International is expanding its footprint in remote surgery after securing approvals for its SSi Mantra system in Indonesia and the Philippines, adding to its existing authorization in India. The robotic platform has already enabled over 150 telesurgeries, including bariatric, gynecological, and cardiac procedures, highlighting its ability to connect specialist surgeons with patients across distances.

The company plans further global expansion and is pursuing regulatory approvals in the US and Europe, supported by recent funding to accelerate growth.

In a separate breakthrough, XCath reported the first successful remote robotic stroke procedure using its Iris system. Conducted across more than 120 miles in Panama, the operation demonstrated real-time precision without latency issues.

These advancements signal a growing shift toward telesurgery, with the potential to expand access to critical procedures such as stroke treatment, especially in regions lacking specialized care.
