Certificate in Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP/GDP)

The Certificate in Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP/GDP) is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of the principles governing the safe, controlled, and compliant storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products throughout the supply chain.

Pharmaceutical products can be affected by inappropriate storage conditions, temperature excursions, inadequate transportation practices, improper handling, unsuitable packaging, and deficiencies in documentation. Therefore, maintaining product quality and integrity requires robust systems covering warehousing, environmental and temperature control, transportation, shipment, receipt, dispatch, documentation, complaints, recalls, returns, and self-inspection.

This program provides participants with an understanding of internationally recognized Good Storage Practices (GSP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) requirements and their application across pharmaceutical supply-chain operations. The course addresses key elements such as organization and management, personnel responsibilities, quality systems, premises and warehousing, temperature and environmental controls, transportation, shipment containers and labeling, documentation, complaints and recalls, pharmaceutical imports, contract activities, and self-inspection.

The program is intended to support pharmaceutical professionals in developing effective systems for maintaining the quality, safety, identity, and integrity of pharmaceutical products from the point of receipt through storage, transportation, distribution, and final delivery.

Through a structured combination of regulatory requirements and practical pharmaceutical supply-chain considerations, the program will help participants understand how GSDP/GDP principles can be integrated into quality management systems and day-to-day distribution operations.
