Professional Certification in Mushroom Cultivation (PCM)

The Industry Professional Certification in Mushroom Cultivation will provide comprehensive knowledge to students to develop their understanding and professional skills in the Agriculture and Allied Agriculture Sector. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of mushrooms, different types of edible mushrooms, mushroom biology, cultivation technologies, spawn production, substrate preparation, environmental requirements, crop management practices, harvesting, post-harvest handling, value addition and commercial aspects of mushroom production.

In order to enhance knowledge and professional competency in the area of Mushroom Cultivation, CSAT, IGMPI has designed this programme. The programme focuses on providing structured and industry-oriented knowledge covering the key principles, technologies and practices associated with mushroom cultivation. The course is designed to help participants understand the complete mushroom production process and develop the knowledge required for academic, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities in the mushroom and allied agriculture sector.

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline are eligible for our Post Graduate Diploma, Executive Diploma and Professional Certifications Programmes. 10+2 pass-outs are eligible for our Under Graduate Diploma and Diploma holders of two to three years course duration are also eligible for the PG Diploma. 

Programme Duration

The duration of the training is 5 days. 

Programme Mode

Registration is currently open for Part-time (Online Live Classes) mode.

Assessment & Certification

Online assessment will be conducted at the end of the programme and after successful completion; the participants will be awarded Professional Certification in Mushroom Cultivation by Centre for Sustainable Agriculture Technology, IGMPI. 

Discipline in Classes and Examination

Every student is required to observe a disciplined behaviour during her/his classes, assessments & examinations and to follow instructions from the Professors. Any act of indiscipline may result into discredit & it will be mentioned in her/his academic report.

Future Career Prospects

With increasing adoption of mushroom cultivation as a sustainable and commercially viable agricultural activity, there is a growing demand for professionals skilled in mushroom production and cultivation technologies. Certificate holders can work in mushroom cultivation farms, spawn production units, food processing industries, agricultural research institutions, horticulture departments, agri-input companies, agricultural consultancies, and allied agriculture organizations or start their own mushroom cultivation and agri-entrepreneurship ventures.

Opportunities also exist in commercial mushroom production, spawn production, substrate preparation, controlled-environment cultivation, mushroom processing and value addition, where professionals assist in cultivation planning, environmental management, crop production, quality management, post-harvest handling, and sustainable mushroom production. The demand for skilled professionals in mushroom cultivation and allied activities is steadily rising in both domestic and international agricultural and food processing sectors.
