Certificate in Hands-on Herbal Extraction

The Certificate Course in Hands-on Herbal Extraction Techniques is a five-day intensive, offline practical training program designed to provide participants with practical exposure to the extraction of bioactive constituents from medicinal and herbal raw materials. The program focuses specifically on Soxhlet-based extraction, with emphasis on hydro-alcoholic extraction, covering the complete laboratory workflow from preparation and size reduction of herbal material to solvent selection, extraction, concentration, extract recovery, yield calculation, and documentation. The training is designed with an application-oriented approach, enabling participants to understand and practically perform critical extraction parameters such as solvent composition, drug-to-solvent ratio, extraction time, particle size, and extraction cycles. The course is particularly suitable for professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, and students involved in Ayurvedic, herbal, phytopharmaceutical, and natural-product development who wish to develop practical competence in laboratory-scale herbal extraction.

This 5-day short-term hands-on program is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of herbal extraction, with a specific focus on hydro-alcoholic extraction using Soxhlet extraction techniques. The program combines essential theoretical concepts with intensive practical exposure, covering raw material preparation, solvent selection, extraction parameters, extraction cycles, concentration, extract recovery, and yield determination. Participants will gain practical experience in carrying out the complete extraction process and understanding the critical factors that influence extraction efficiency and reproducibility, providing a foundation for laboratory-research-scale herbal extract development.
